Bible Beliefs
The Bible
At The Lighthouse Chapel, we believe the Bible to be the inspired words of God. The bible contains God's plan of salvation for all humanity and instructions for living our lives pleasing to Him.
Relationship
God created mankind to have fellowship with Him, but they defied God by sinfully living life their own way. To correct this, we need God's saving grace to end our separation from Him. As the Bible teaches, we believe that salvation is by grace through faith as we obey the gospel of Jesus Christ. Obedient faith in Jesus is the means by which a person is justified. We are commanded to repent from our sinful life and to be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit with signs and gifts following.(Mark 16:17, John 7:38-39, Acts 1:8,2:38). Thus, the various aspects of faith and obedience come together in God's grace whereby we are born again and reconciled to Him in proper relationship.
God
We believe in one God who revealed Himself in the Old Testament as Creator/Father, revealed himself in the New Testament as His Son Jesus Christ, who shed his sinless blood so we could be saved and reconciled back to Himself. Jesus is the one true God manifested in flesh; For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Thus, Jesus Christ was and is God.(1Timothy 3:16, Colossian 2:9) While fully God, Jesus was also fully man, possessing a full and true humanity, yet without sin. He was both God and man consisting now in both Spirit and flesh. God is a Spirit (John 4:24) and God is Holy, therefore He is the Holy Spirit. There is one body and one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all.(Ephesians 4:4-7)
Living The Life
We believe that God, who is Holy, calls each of us into relationship with Him. This relationship with Him manifests itself in every aspect of our lives. The Lighthouse Chapel stresses and supports the family as a God given relationship consisting of one man and one woman. With the knowledge of His plan for salvation, the revelation of who He is, and the blessings in the life He equips us to lead; we believe in covenanting with the Holy Spirit while anticipating the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
