Pastor Darrel Hooper was born in 1956 in Nashville, TN and raised in Hendersonville, TN where he met and married his High School sweetheart, Candy Riddle, in 1974. They raised three children, Scott, Tony and Eva while serving in the military. After retirement from the Army, he served for three years as a Deputy Sheriff in Cheatham County, TN. Brother Hooper's whole life was about keeping the peace, yet he never knew the Prince of Peace. Becoming frustrated with systems of this world, Brother Hooper traded in his uniforms and rules for a Harley Davidson and began experiencing this world in a new way. After about 18 months of searching for something to fill the void in his life, he came to himself like the prodigal son in the pigpin of life. Thank God that Sister Hooper had already come to this wonderful truth two years earlier through the power of prayer and personal testimonies of close friends. If not for the prayers of the faithful, only God knows how this story might have ended. He finally submitted wholeheartedly to the Lord and was filled with the Holy Ghost and baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for remission of sins in July of 1999 while at the Tennessee District Camp Meeting. He continues to praise God for the power of prayer and the power of the gospel to draw a sinner to repentance and to the knowledge of who Jesus Christ is. Two years later God called him to preach and two years after that, God placed a burden on his heart for their community of Pleasant View, TN. In October of 2003 the Hoopers were sent out from the First Church of Nashville and their pastor, Ron Becton, to start The Lighthouse Chapel in their community.  On Janurary 26th, 2006, The Lighthouse Chapel was set to order and is now an autonomus church in Home Missions status.
