Sister Hooper was raised by loving parents who were faithful in teaching their children the importance of church attendance. But after marrying at the age of 17, she realized she must make her own decisions about her walk with the Lord. She will always be appreciative of the knowledge she had of the Lord during that time, but something was still missing. She had not experienced a true change that the scriptures spoke about and her attempt to live righteously was short-lived and filled with desperation. After a mid-life struggle to "find herself" lead to a lifestyle that brought only guilt and shame; she turned back to the Lord for some real answers. Some of her friends had come to know the Lord in the power of His resurrection and she witnessed a true change in them. They were praying for her and finally one day she totally submitted to the Lord and she obeyed the gospel by giving her heart totally to Jesus, was baptized in His precious name, and six months later was filled with His Spirit. She has not been the same since that time. Her husband was unhappy with her newfound faith and the profound change that was taking place in her. Yet the Lord showed her grace and gave her strength to pray for him until the day he also surrendered and had his own, "Day of Pentecost". The Lord gave her some insight that one day she and her husband would be working in the ministry together, but she never would have imagined what all the Lord had in store for them. Every day serving the Lord is a blessing and honor and she will continually praise the Lord for all He has done! Sister Hooper plays the piano and also teaches the children's Sunday School.
